A new web publishing, modeling in layers and new possibilities to create lists of objects or relations, creating document objects and configure the application are some of the new features. To consider when updating to 3.0! New web publishing toolIn version 3.0 web publishing is completely redesigned to provide greater scope to shape the published models for your own needs. Some of the new features are:
Layer/ viewsTo create a common understanding of the business information is collected in graphical models. Many times the models give answers to the complex reality but the more information we collect the poorer the readability, we need access to information but not all at once. In 2c8, we can now add information in different layers, and users can choose which view you want to look at. A process model for example displays its basic flow composed of activities with inputs and outputs. Users can then select additional views such as targets and indicators, roles and responsibilities, IT support, problems and risks. Open a screen dump of layer management ListsIt is now possible to create lists of objects and relationships in the repository. It has previously been possible to create lists in the html profile but now you can see them in the application. You can also create lists of a certain criteria. Eg List all roles associated with an activity of a particular type. RelationsThe tool can read the relations between objects and follow relationships in multiple steps. Eg when you click on a role you can see the systems that role has as relation to through the activities in the process model. These relationships are available in the published models. Document objectPreviously when you needed to create textual information to an object you had two ways to do it, write the information in a description or link it to a document on a file server or a Web site. The problem is that the information you write in the description can not be reused on multiple items and some information is not suitable for an external document. Now it's possible to create a document object directly in 2c8 Modeling Tool. 2c8 AdministrationA new application has been developed to control the functionality that is be available in 2c8 Modeling Tool and the model types, symbols and relationships to be used. Application Profile.Hide the functionality that is not used generally. If for example you do not intend to create models in multiple languages or work with audit management you can exclude these menu options in 2c8. Assign privileges to use functionality.Access to functionality can be controlled to allow only certain users get menu options. For example, some users may be able to create html profiles and publish to html Repository configuration.Exclude model types and define rules for what symbols and relationships that can be used in each model type.
